On the last page of the September 19th issue of Newsweek there is an article titled Don't Mess With Mother by columnist Anna Quindlen on the consumer mentallity of our nation and how it relates to the hurricane Katrina disaster.

In it she says:
"But the failure by government, in the midst of a hurricane season forecast early on to be a monstrous one, illustrates once again the lack of a long view. The long view at the moment is not about patching levees, or building houses, or getting oil rigs back up and running, or assigning blame. It's about changing the way we all live now."

In a country that is by far leading the world community in health care advances it is sad to see the life expectancy struggle to keep at rates that had been going up for decades. Partly to blame is the lack of health care availibility to poor and lower middle class citizens. The health care plan of Wal-Mart, the largest single employer in the world, is an example of how large corporations hurt not only the pockets but also the health of the communities they live in. Wal-Mart has also come under fire as a result of its restricted employee healthcare coverage.

"Wal-Mart doesn’t pay their associates enough to handle the [health insurance] coverage that they supposedly offer us," said Belva Witt, who has worked as a cashier for the past year and a half at a Wal-Mart in Brandon, FL. "And it’s not a coverage that’s worth having anyway."

The realization that all is not fine and well is hitting the mainstream.

The way they raise you is aimed at enslaving you. I come with love and a vision of Humanity. I don't claim to be a deity. I'm just struggling to free you and me. So come and walk with me, Hold your head up high, lets call them out in the midst of their lies.

The contradictions become salient as I reflect on daily life experiences. I think back, finding myself with Afrikan elders in St. Loo, who would of knew, that they'd be 60 plus, working as janitors cuz the Senators sold them out for self-interests. Gutting the working class creating pockets of 3rd world labor pools. Trying to make us play the fool. We build the prisons and schools then they fill them with us too. Two systems of Oppression that are intimately tied to the Military Industrial Complex. War is the Health of the State so don't fall for their bate. The Poverty Draft is sending poor people of color to kill other poor people of color maintaining the status quo.

Now I go deeper in time, back to 1994, NAFTA passed cuz me and you have no world value. Whole villages are dispensable through the theoretical debacle that is neoliberalism. This is a prism of economic chaos that's imprisoning all oppressed classes throughout the land. Uncle Sam marching up yo street with M16 in Hand.

Repression like we've never seen before but we must resist like our Ancestors did Before. Our Predecessors have laid down the path of struggle. Resistance is vital for our Survival. We must heal the Earth, bridge the gap and live as one, in Harmony with everyone. Yes, Utopian and Idealistic, as I see my peoples with that cannibalistic look in they eye's.

So its imperative that we destroy this system of lies. Body and spirit, coupled with the strength of Heart and Mind, is where the key resides. Ghetto Youth Corporate Evil's battle field is located in that space between your ears. Polish that Gem so that it shines bright and blinds them.

Remember our Ancestors with a tear but have no fear cuz they still here.

Never Forgetting You

Many Have Died in an Attempt to Liberate You

When we walk in their path our future is clear like water. So remember theirs no need to Conquer the World cuz its enough to Change it.

Mr. Allgood wrote in and sent us a couple of ideas for an A.C.I. logo. Below are the examples. I'll put a vote off for a while in case anyone else wants to send in some ideas but until then discussion on them can be held on the ACI Myspace blog post.

There is a great article in Rolling Stone this month on the Bush administration and pollution.

In it, columnist Tim Dickinson says:

"What can you say about the environmental record of an administration that seeks to test pesticides on poor children and pregnant women? That argues in court that a dam is part of a salmon's natural environment? That places a timber lobbyist in charge of the national forests and an oil lobbyist in charge of government reports on global warming? That cuts clean-air inspections at oil refineries in half, allows Superfund to go bankrupt and permits the mining industry to pump toxic waste directly into a wild Alaskan lake?

Only this: It's about to get even worse."

This planet has - or rather had - a problem, which was this: most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movements of small green pieces of paper, which is odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy.
